Hi my Satsuki azalea has some 6 inch new shoots, can these be used for cuttings, if so how do I take them?

Nice video again Ian. I'm a bit surprised that you have put such a young azalea into a bonsai pot at this early stage.

I usually tell people to grow them on in training pots or ½ plant pots until they thicken up sufficiently as it will save 20 years on the development. Is there a particular reason for the small bonsai pot Ian?
